Chapter I : The New Land

America is known by the European as "The New Land" after being discovered by Christopher Columbus in the year 1493. During that time, many Europeans were tired of the religion and Monarchy, so many of them wished to leave "the Old World"--the European countries. But the Europeans were not the first people who entered America, the Native Americans or "the Red Indians" have been living in America many generations before the arrival of the Europeans. So, the war began between the natives and the European army. The indian's arrows and axes cannot best the advance technologies and European gunpowder. After signing the peace treaty, they decided to share the land together. The Indians agreed to leave in the resticted area, while the Europeans started setting their colonies. The first thirteen colonies were Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, South Carolina, New Hampshire, Virginia, New York, North Carolina, Rhode Island, Vermont Kentucky, Tennessee, Maine, and West Virginia. I want to do this project on the U.S. history, but before I get started, I want to tell the reason why I choose to write about the U.S. history. The first reason would be the greatness of this country. I interested in how the United States became so powerful and rich but has only two hundred years of history, which consider to be very young country compare to others world leading countries. Second, Since the United states are very powerful country nowaday, I believe that it would be great idea to study about this country. And the last reason is my personal reason, because I had a chance to go and study in the United States for a year in the exchange student program three years ago and I just love everything there. So, these are my reasons to do this project on the U.S. history and I hope that you will like it. And I promise to do my best to give the right infomation but if I have a wrong intel, please forgive me at this point. Thank you.
